Bhairav Metal Industries

Our place, Bhairav Metal Industries, is at Shop No.10 in Baba Chawl, which is part of 13, Khetwadi, Main Road. It’s right next to Harikishan Hospital, so there are always people walking by and ambulances coming through. Khetwadi is one of those old, narrow areas where everything feels very close together. Our shop is quite small, and we deal with various metals, so it’s always got that metallic smell and a bit of a grime on the surfaces. Being in a chawl means we know all our neighbors, and there’s always someone stopping by to chat or share some news. It’s a noisy environment with the traffic from the main road and the sounds of the hospital. We don’t have a big showroom or any place for people to sit comfortably. It’s more of a workshop where we keep the stock and do the basic sorting. The walls are old and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but that doesn't stop us from getting the work done. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and the building has a lot of history. Most days are just a blur of handling metal sheets and keeping track of what’s going out. It can be exhausting, especially when it’s humid, but we just keep at it until it’s time to pull down the shutters and go home.
