Battery Land

Battery Land is right near Sakinaka Railway Station 3, which makes it a very easy spot to find but a very busy one too. We mostly deal with batteries of all sizes, from small ones for bikes to big ones for trucks and backup systems. The shop is quite small and those batteries are heavy, so there is a lot of lifting involved every day. It’s a bit messy with cables and testers lying around on the counter. The noise from the trains and the street outside is constant, so you have to talk loud sometimes. We don’t have a big corporate team. It is just us here trying to make sure people don’t get stuck with a dead engine. We see a lot of people who are in a hurry because their vehicle won't start. We just test the battery and tell them if it needs a charge or if it is completely dead. There’s no point in making things complicated. The floors are a bit stained from all the work, but that’s how it is in a battery shop. We don’t do any fancy advertising or have a polished website. People just know we are here by the station. It is a simple trade and we have been doing it for a long time. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the crowds go by the station. It gets dusty from the road, so we are always wiping things down.
