You can find Baldiwal Associates at 73 Sarang Street. It’s a crowded area, always full of people moving goods and carts rattling over the pavement. Our building is squeezed in between a lot of others, and you have to keep your eyes open or you’ll walk right past the entrance. Inside, it is a bit of a climb up the stairs. The office is small and packed with ledgers and boxes. We’ve been here a long time, so we know most of the people on the block. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don't have a lot of space for bells and whistles. There are just enough chairs for us and maybe a guest or two. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving. We deal with whatever comes across the desk, whether it’s a lot of paperwork or just a quick question from a neighbor. We don't use much technology beyond the basics. Most of our work is done with pens and paper and old-fashioned conversation. It’s a busy, noisy, and somewhat messy environment, but it’s where we feel at home. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done, day after day, year after year. That’s just how Sarang Street is. We don't need fancy things to do what we do. We just need a desk and some quiet time to think.
