Balaji Prohiles

We are located in Andheri East, right on Lane 262, at number 9. It’s a busy part of the city, and there’s always something moving outside our doors. Balaji Prohiles is a small operation. We work with various types of profiles and materials. The floor is usually covered in little bits of metal or plastic shavings depending on what we are cutting that day. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back working on the machines. It’s a bit cramped in here because we have to store the raw materials along the walls. We’ve been in this lane for several years now. You get to know the other shop owners and the guys who deliver the supplies. The light in the workshop isn’t the best, so we have some extra lamps set up near the cutters. We don’t do big fancy presentations for what we make. We just show people the samples we have on the shelf. It’s a practical way to do business. Sometimes the rain in Andheri makes it hard to get things moved out on time, but we do what we can. We use a lot of hand tools alongside the bigger equipment. It’s a noisy place, but we like the rhythm of it. We don’t have any big corporate goals; we just want to finish the work on the bench today. It is a simple life but it is our work. We make sure to sweep the floor before we leave.
