B. V. S. Overseas

B. V. S. Overseas is located at 132 Kika Street in the Gulalwadi area. If you’ve ever been down to Kika Street, you know it’s a very tight and crowded place. There’s always someone moving something heavy nearby or shouting for a path. Our office is right there in the thick of it. It’s a small place, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. The walls are lined with shelves that are mostly full of old ledgers and some sample items. We spend our days dealing with the logistics of overseas trade. It’s a lot of loud talking over the phone because the street noise outside is so persistent. Sometimes we have to step out or close the heavy door just to hear what the person on the other end is saying. The floor is concrete and the lights are those long tubes that flicker a bit when you turn them on. It’s a very practical environment. We don't really have time for anything that isn't work-related. Usually, there’s a pot of tea going somewhere in the back room. We work long hours sometimes when there’s a big shipment going out. It’s a lot of work, moving things around and checking boxes. We know most of the other shopkeepers on the street. It’s a tight-knit community in Gulalwadi. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. It’s been our routine for years now and we just keep going.
