Our place is located at Matunga 2Nd Stage right off Tumkur Road. It’s basically a big warehouse area where we keep all the steel stock. It’s not the quietest spot to work in, especially when the trucks are loading up early in the morning. We spend a lot of our time checking inventories and making sure we haven't run out of the common sizes. The floor is concrete and there’s always bits of scrap lying around that need to be swept up. We have a small office corner with a desk and a few chairs for when someone comes in to settle an account. It gets quite hot in the afternoons under the tin roof, so we usually take our breaks then. People from the nearby construction sites are our main regulars. They know where we are and just pull up their vehicles when they need something specific. We don't bother with fancy displays because steel is steel, and people just want to know if we have it in stock. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, so we just sit outside on some crates until it comes back on. It’s a simple operation really. We’ve been here at this Tumkur Road location long enough that everyone knows the way to our gate now. The crane we use for the heavy lifting is old and makes a loud squeaking sound, but it hasn't let us down yet.
