This branch of the bank is located in Nehru Nagar, Kurla East, which is one of those parts of Mumbai that never really stops for a breath. We are in Building 38/1084, up on the second floor. It is a bit of a climb if you are carrying bags, but it gets you away from the immediate noise of the street for a second. The building is older, like most things in this part of Kurla, and it has that specific Mumbai character where everything is a bit cramped but somehow fits. Being on the second floor means we see the tops of the buses and the local life moving along the road below us. Inside, it's just the usual bank stuff, desks, chairs, and people waiting their turn. It gets very busy during the middle of the month when everyone has chores to do. We aren't like those big central offices in South Mumbai or BKC with the glass walls. This is a local spot for local people. We know the regulars who come in every week to check their accounts or drop off papers. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a blessing in the humid months. Sometimes the power goes or the systems are slow, and we just have to wait it out like everyone else. It is a practical place. We focus on getting the transactions done so people can get back to their day. It is just a regular part of the neighborhood, tucked away in an old Nehru Nagar block.
