Atulyea Chains

Atulyea Chains is located over in Naveen Shahdara at K-13. If you know the area, you know it’s pretty packed with all sorts of small businesses and shops. We’ve got a lot of stuff crammed into our space here. It’s mostly chains and related hardware piled up on the heavy racks. It gets pretty loud with the traffic outside and the sound of metal moving around inside. We spend a lot of our time measuring lengths and making sure the counts are right before anything goes out the door. The floor is usually a bit dusty because of all the moving parts, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It’s a straightforward setup. Some days are slower than others, which gives us a chance to reorganize the back room, though it never stays neat for very long. The neighborhood around Shahdara is always moving, and we are just one part of that. We’ve seen a lot of neighbors come and go over the years while we stayed put in this spot. Most of the guys here have been working together for a long time, so we don’t really need to say much to get the job done. We just show up, handle the requests that come in, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a basic life, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid. We just focus on the work.
