Our office is a simple, no-frills room where we manage our cab and travel services. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy furniture or air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. We just have our phones, some ledgers, and a few chairs for the drivers to sit on while they wait for their next trip. We spend most of the day answering calls and trying to make sure our cars are getting to where they need to be. Traffic in Mumbai is unpredictable, so there is always a bit of stress involved in what we do. We’ve been operating from this link road location for a good while. We know all the back lanes of Dharavi and the quick ways to get onto the highway towards Bandra or Sion. It’s a tough job and the hours are irregular, but it keeps us going. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few people who know the roads well. People call us when they’re in a hurry to get somewhere, and we do what we can to help them out.
