Ask Impex is based in Goregaon West, specifically at Gala No 216 in Shivam Chambers. Being on S V Road means we are right in the thick of things. If you have ever traveled that road, you know the traffic is something else. Our office is a gala, which is a very typical Mumbai kind of workspace. It is compact and efficient, which suits the way we work. We don't have much room for anything other than our desks and the storage we need for our files. The building, Shivam Chambers, is always full of other small businesses doing their own thing. You see the same faces in the hallway every day. Our work involves a lot of importing and exporting details, so we are usually buried in paperwork or on the computer for hours. It gets a bit noisy with the road traffic just outside, but you eventually stop noticing it. We keep things simple here. There are no fancy meetings or big presentations. We just get the jobs done as they come in. Most of us take the local train to Goregaon station and then walk or take an auto to the building. It’s a standard routine. We’ve been in this gala for a while now, and it’s become like a second home to the few of us who work here. It is just a regular local business trying to keep things moving.
