We operate out of number 43 on Iind Carpenter Street. It is a bit of a tight squeeze around here sometimes with all the trucks coming in. If you have been to this part of town, you know it is mostly shops and workshops working with wood or metal. We handle steel mostly. It’s heavy stuff and it gets pretty dirty. The shop floor is always covered in dust or scrap pieces. We have been in this spot for a long time now. Most of the people who walk by are regulars or other guys from the neighborhood looking for specific cuts of steel. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. Sometimes the noise from the street is so loud we can barely hear ourselves think, but that is just how it is on Carpenter Street. We spend our days measuring things out and moving piles of metal from one side of the room to the other. It's hard work on the back. My hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We just get on with it. We don't spend much on decorating the place because there's no point. Steel is steel. We just make sure the orders are ready when someone comes to pick them up in their tempo. It’s a simple way to make a living.
