Ashwini Kala Kendra

Our office is over in Bandra West, right in the Ashwini Building at Office No 1/5. It’s funny that the building has the same name as us, but it makes it easier for people to find the place. Bandra is always moving, so there’s a lot of energy right outside the windows. We focus on arts and culture things here. The office is a bit of a mess sometimes with papers, brushes, and different materials scattered around. It’s not one of those sterile corporate offices you see in the movies. We have tea multiple times a day and talk about upcoming projects or just the local news. The building is a bit older, so the elevator is sometimes temperamental, but the stairs are fine. We get a lot of creative types coming in and out. It’s a small space, but we make it work for rehearsals or small meetings. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a big event coming up, and you can hear the sounds of the Bandra nightlife starting up outside. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a good while. People know the blue door of our office. It’s a modest setup where we just do our work without much fuss. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who care about the arts and keeping things going. There is always something new to look at or talk about in this room.
