Ashok Steel

We are located in the Giriraj Building, room 309. It is right on S T Road near Masjid and 90 Feet Road. Ashok Steel has been operating out of Andheri East for quite some time now. L.B.S. Nagar in Sakinaka is a crowded place, but it works for what we do. Dealing with steel means a lot of noise and heavy lifting throughout the day. We mostly supply basic metal pieces and rods to whoever needs them. The office isn't anything special to look at. Just some desks and stacks of paperwork. Most of us here grew up in this part of Mumbai. We know the shortcut through the lanes when the main road gets blocked with trucks. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just keep working. People come by asking about prices for different grades of steel all the time. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the orders get loaded onto the trucks correctly. The neighbors know us well since we've been in this building so long. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially with the metal around. We usually just have our tea and get back to the ledger books. There’s always someone coming in or out. It is a simple way to make a living, and we just stick to what we know about the steel business. We spend most of our days on the phone or checking the inventory in the back. That’s pretty much what happens every day.
