Ashok Metals Co

Started the shop years ago here at Gamdevi Quarter Gate 6. It gets really dusty with all the metal around, but that is just how it is. We mostly deal with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes we just sit and wait for someone to need a piece of steel or copper. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we opened. People used to walk by more, now there are so many bikes parked out front. We try to keep the shop organized but with metal scraps and rods, it’s hard. My father started this and now I spend my days here. We have some regulars who know where everything is better than I do. The sign is a bit old now. Ashok Metals Co is just a small place. We don’t have fancy chairs or anything. Just the workbench and the tools. It gets hot in the afternoons under this roof. I spend a lot of time moving things from one corner to another to make space. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. Most of the stuff here is heavy. That’s the business. We don't do anything special, just sell what we have and help out if we can. Some days are long. If you look for us, we are right by the gate. You can't miss the piles of pipes. It's just a regular work day every day. I usually have my tea around four in the evening.
