Ashok Metal Industries

We’ve been running Ashok Metal Industries out of this office on the second floor for quite some time now. Building 148/152 is right in the middle of 2nd Kumbharwada Lane, which is always a bit crowded with people and trucks. If you know Girgaon, you know how busy it gets around here. Our office isn't very big, just a regular space where we handle the paperwork and talk to folks who come in looking for metal parts. It gets noisy outside with all the trade going on downstairs, but we've gotten used to it. Most days we are just sorting out orders and making sure the right materials go to the right people. It’s a lot of back and forth on the phone. We don't have fancy furniture or anything, just the usual desks and a lot of ledgers. Sometimes the stairs are a bit of a climb if you aren't used to these old buildings, but we like being in this part of town. It’s where the work happens. People stop by to check prices or just to see what we have in stock for the week. We try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. Being on the second floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, though mostly it’s just more roofs and wires. It is what it is, a small place doing its part in the metal trade. We just keep our heads down and work. There is always a lot of tea drinking and talking about the daily rates.
