Ashish Enterprises

Ashish Enterprises is located in Cabin Number 16 at K.M. Mehta, which is on Ahmedabad Street in Masjid Bunder. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how tight and crowded the lanes are. Our office is small—it’s just a cabin, really—but it’s where all the business happens. We’ve been operating out of this area for years, dealing with trade and supplies. There is barely enough room for three people to sit comfortably, but we make it work. The walls are lined with old ledgers and files because we still like to keep physical records. Outside, the street is always full of handcarts and porters moving heavy bags. It’s a constant noise of shouting and horns. We spend our day on the phone, checking prices, and making sure our deliveries are moving through the narrow streets. We don't have a website or a fancy logo. Most of our clients have been with us for a long time, and they know where to find us. We drink tea from the stall downstairs and keep track of the market trends by talking to the neighbors. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, based on knowing people and keeping your word. It’s hot and cramped in the summer, but this is the heart of the trading district, and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It’s just how things are at Masjid Bunder.
