Our office is located in the Warden Building over in Lower Parel. We are at 2/35 on G.K. Marg. Lower Parel has changed a lot over the years, from old mills to all these big glass buildings, but we’ve been in this spot through it all. It’s a busy office because there is always a lot going on. We have quite a few people working here on different projects all at once. You will see plenty of models and huge stacks of drawings everywhere. It is a working office, not a showroom. We deal with everything from massive towers to smaller designs. The phones are usually ringing and people are always coming in and out for meetings. Even though the name architect hafeez contractor is well-known, the daily work is just about solving problems and getting the designs right. We spend a lot of time coordinating between different teams. G.K. Marg can be a nightmare with traffic during rush hour, but that is just part of being in this part of Mumbai. We don't have much time for fancy talk or long mission statements. We just focus on the deadlines and the drawings. Some days are stressful when there is a big submission due, but we get through it. It’s a long-standing practice and we just keep moving forward with the next project on the desk. Everyone here just puts their head down and works until the job is done.
