Aptech

We’ve been set up here at May Flower Amritvan for a while now. It’s right across from the Dindoshi Bus Depot in Goregaon East, so the traffic is always a bit much, but it makes it easy for the students to get here. The Yashodham High School Road stays busy all day long with people rushing around. Inside, things are mostly quiet unless a class just finished. We spend most of our time at the desks helping people with computer courses or fixing some technical issue that popped up on the network. It’s not a fancy office by any means. We have rows of computers and those standard office chairs that have seen better days. People come in from around the neighborhood to learn software or get some new skills for a job hunt. Most mornings start with unlocking the front gate and checking the internet connection. Sometimes the rains in Mumbai make things a bit difficult with the leaks or the dampness, but we keep going. The tea stall nearby is where we usually end up during our short breaks. It’s just a regular place where people come to study and get their work done. We try to keep the labs running as smooth as we can. There is nothing too complicated about it. We see a lot of young faces every day, all trying to figure out their next move. That’s pretty much how our days go here in Goregaon. There is always some small chore to do.
