Apsara Bags

We are located in the Kala Killa area of Dharavi. Our place is actually above Dr. Rupesh's clinic. We are right next to the Shani Mandir on Ranwaraabolil, which is just off NDA Road. It is a bit of an unusual spot since you have to head upstairs, but once you are here, you will see all the bags we have. The sound of the bells from the temple is something we hear every day. It is a very local feel here in Dharavi. We spend most of our time sewing or fixing up bags and getting them ready for customers. Being above the clinic means it is a bit quieter than being right on the street level, which helps us focus. We have a lot of different bags piled up, sometimes reaching the ceiling. It is just a small operation with a few people. We don't go for anything fancy. People usually hear about us from their neighbors or see our small sign when they are visiting the doctor or the temple. We have been in this spot for a while and we know the neighborhood well. It is a simple life of working with our hands and making sure the bags are sturdy enough for daily use. It gets a bit dusty but we just keep at it every day from morning until late.
