Our workshop is at number 49 Goregaon East, not too far from the Cama Estate area. We spend our days cutting iron, welding joints, and putting together various metal structures. It’s the kind of place where you’ll always hear the hum of the welding machine and see sparks flying in the corner. We do things like window grills, gates, and small frames for people around here. We aren't a big factory; it is just a handful of us who know our way around a piece of metal. The floor is usually covered in scrap pieces and tools that we forgot to put away. It can get pretty busy, and sometimes we are rushing to finish a gate before the monsoon starts. We don't really use a lot of fancy technology, just the reliable tools we’ve had for years. It's a bit of a walk from the main road, but we like being near the estate because there is always something going on. We talk to our customers plainly and tell them honestly how long a job will take. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of rod and have to wait for the supplier, but we try to keep moving. It’s just basic fabrication work, done by hand, day in and day out, and that is how we’ve always operated our small business here in Goregaon. We don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
