Anil & Company

We’ve been at 212 Adamji Building for quite a while now. It’s on the second floor, which is a bit of a walk up when the stairs are crowded with people moving boxes. Narshi Natha Street is always busy, especially being right in Katha Bazar where there’s constantly something happening outside. You can hear the noise from the trucks and the shouting from the street all day long. Usually, we are just here at our desks handling whatever paperwork comes in for the day. The building itself is pretty old, and you can see that in the walls and the way the windows are set in the frames. We share the floor with a lot of other offices, so it’s a tight community in a way. Most mornings start with clearing off the desk from the day before and getting the ledgers or the computer ready. It’s not a fancy setup by any means. We have some fans that stay on through the afternoon heat and a few chairs for when people drop by to talk. Sometimes the tea man comes around and that's when we take a small break. It’s just how things go here at Anil & Company. We don’t really do anything flashy or special. It’s mostly about keeping up with the orders and making sure the files are where they need to be. The area around us is full of history and old trade routes, so it feels like we’re just a small part of that long story.
