Silver Thread

Silver Thread is basically just us working out of room 603 in Manu Apartment. If you know the Seven Bunglows area in Versova, we are right in that neighborhood. It’s a residential building, so it’s much quieter than a commercial market. Being in Andheri West means there is always something going on outside, but inside the apartment, we just focus on our thread work. We have been here for a bit now. Most people who come by are locals from around the Versova side. It’s not a big office with a front desk or anything fancy. You just come up to the sixth floor. Sometimes the elevator is slow or out of order, so we end up waiting a lot. We have our supplies organized in the main room. It can get a little crowded when we have a lot of stock, but we manage the space okay. Living and working in the same general area makes things easier for us. We don't have big signs or anything. It's just a regular door in the hallway. We usually have the windows open to catch the breeze from the sea since we aren't too far from the water. The light is good in the afternoons for seeing the fine details of the work. We just get on with the daily tasks, sorting through materials and making sure the work is finished on time. It is a simple way of doing things, and it suits us just fine for now. We don't really need a lot of space to do what we do.
