Rashmi Impex

Our office is M/s Rashmi Impex over at 17b/34 Takshila. It’s on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri-east. Being in Mumbai-400093 means we are right in the middle of everything. Andheri is always crowded and loud, but that’s just part of being in this city. Our space in the Takshila building is where everything happens. We handle a lot of different import and export tasks, so there is always a stack of documents waiting to be signed. It’s not a very quiet office, as people are always coming in and out with news or questions. We have a few computers that are always running and a printer that jams more often than we’d like. But we make it work. The staff here is small, mostly family and a few others who have become like family over the years. We don’t do much advertising; most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve worked with us before. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure nothing gets stuck at the port for too long. It’s a lot of coordination and keeping track of numbers. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is coming in, but usually we head home around six. It’s just a normal business doing its thing in Maharashtra. We take our tea breaks together when the clock hits four.
