You can find us at 137/139 Kika Street in the Gulalwadi area. It’s a very old and crowded part of the city, but we like the energy there. Anand Steel (India) has been operating out of this small space for a very long time. The streets are extremely narrow, and it’s always a bit of a struggle with the handcarts and delivery bikes constantly passing by the door. We don't have a big warehouse; we use every single inch of the shop at 137/139. There’s metal stacked up everywhere you look, almost to the ceiling. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We know almost all of the neighbors on Kika Street. It’s the kind of place where everyone has to shout to be heard over the noise of the traffic and the carts. We don't bother with any marketing or advertising. People just walk in through the door when they need something. The building is old and the walls are a bit stained from the years, but it’s home for us. We spend the day weighing pieces and talking to customers who stop by. It’s a lot of manual work and heavy lifting. Gulalwadi is famous for this kind of metal trade, so we fit right in with everyone else. We don’t have a website that we update or anything fancy like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and start working. It’s a simple, busy life here on the street.
