Our office is up on the first floor of B-5 in Ghatkopar East. It’s right near Kukreja Palace, which most people know as a landmark around here. Working with steel means things are usually heavy and a bit noisy for most of the day. We spend our time looking over orders and talking to people about what they need for their building projects. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit of a climb if you’re doing it ten times a day, but it’s good for the legs I suppose. The space isn’t very large, just enough for some desks and a place to keep our records. We’ve got samples of different steel pieces lying around on the tables and in the corners. It’s a bit of a functional place, not really for show or anything like that. Outside, Ghatkopar is always moving fast. We can hear the traffic from the window while we work on our ledgers and invoices. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking the stock that comes in on the trucks. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have an old fan that keeps things bearable for us. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just basic steel trade that keeps the local construction going. People know where to find us if they need something sturdy for their work. It’s been our spot for a good while and we've gotten used to the rhythm.
