Down in Sewree, Mumbai, we run Ameya Steel Process Pvt Ltd out of the Sumatinath Apartment. We are at number 26 in the Hirji Baug housing society on J B Road. It’s a busy part of the city, especially with all the industrial activity nearby. We focus on steel processing, which means dealing with a lot of heavy material and technical specs. Our office is more of a place for the paperwork and planning rather than the actual heavy machinery, which is handled elsewhere. Mumbai is a fast-paced place, and we try to keep up with the demands of the steel industry here. The apartment building is a bit older, but it’s a central spot that makes it easy to reach our clients across the city. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed put. It’s a lot of coordination with trucks and transport companies to get the steel where it needs to go. We don't have any fancy brochures or a PR team. We just tell people what we can do and then we do it. Some days the traffic on J B Road makes it hard to get anywhere, but that’s just life in Mumbai. We’re just a bunch of regular people making a living in the steel business, keeping things simple and direct. It’s not always easy, but it is rewarding work. We spend a lot of time checking numbers and schedules to make sure everything stays on track for our customers.
