Amar Flavours

You can find Amar Flavours tucked away on Bhadevani Street, right behind the Omik Complex in Vora Bazar. It’s not the easiest place to spot if you’re just driving by, as we are a bit hidden in the back. The area is always crowded with people shopping and bikes weaving in and out. Inside our shop, it usually smells like whatever we are working with that day, which is sometimes nice and sometimes a bit much. We have a lot of jars and containers everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze, but we have a system that makes sense to us. My father started this and he still comes in most mornings to check on things, even though he says he’s retired. We spend a lot of time talking to the suppliers and making sure we get the right stuff. The lighting in the back room isn't great, but we know where everything is kept. We don't do any big advertising or anything; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been coming here for twenty years. It’s a bit dusty and the floor is uneven in places, but it’s our space. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the quality is okay. It’s a lot of manual work, weighing things out and packing them by hand. It’s how we’ve always done it here.
