We are over here in Fort, right by Hutatma Chowk on the fourth floor of the Sane Building. If you know Nanabhai Lane, that's where we spend most of our days. It gets pretty busy around here with the traffic and everything, but inside the office, things are usually focused on students. We handle a lot of paperwork and talk to people who want to go to university in other countries. It isn't always fancy. Sometimes the printers act up or the phones won't stop ringing when we’re trying to sort out visa details. Most of the folks who come in are young and a bit nervous about leaving Mumbai. We just sit down with them and go over the steps one by one. It’s a lot of checking documents and making sure names are spelled right on forms. There are three or four of us usually working at the desks. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The building is an old one, typical for this part of South Mumbai, so the stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is being slow. We keep a lot of files on the shelves and there’s always tea being made at some point. It’s just a regular office where we try to help people figure out where they’re going next. We don't have a big reception area, just some chairs for people to wait while we finish up with someone else.
