Allied Metal & Tubes

Down here at 113/117 in 3rd Kumbharwada, things stay pretty busy from early morning until the shutters go down. Allied Metal & Tubes has its roots right in the middle of this metal market. If you know Kumbharwada, you know how tight the lanes are and how much metal is moving around at any given hour. We handle a lot of tubes and different metal parts. It’s a dusty job and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the day. The shop isn't much to look at, just racks of material and the smell of cut steel. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and making sure the lengths are what people asked for. It's mostly regular customers who come by, guys who have been buying from us for a decade or more. We talk about the weather, the price of scrap, and whatever else is happening on the street. It’s not a fancy corporate setup. We sit on stools, drink tea from the guy at the corner, and keep track of everything in handwritten ledgers mostly. Moving tubes around in these narrow spaces takes a bit of skill so you don't hit anything. It is hard work, but it is honest. We just keep our heads down and try to get the orders ready so the trucks can get out before the traffic gets too bad. People know where we are if they need something specific in metal or tubing. We just do our thing and try to keep the regulars happy without a lot of fuss.
