Akshara High School

Akshara High School is out in Charkop Sector 8. We are at Plot No. 1, R.S.C. 12. Kandivili West is a big place, and Charkop is a busy corner of it. The school sits on a decent-sized plot. We have a main gate where everyone congregates in the morning. You will see a sea of uniforms and heavy backpacks every day at 8 AM. The building itself is a standard concrete structure with several floors. The stairs are a bit narrow, so the kids have to walk in lines to avoid bumping into each other. We have a lot of classrooms, each with a blackboard and rows of desks. Some of the fans hum a bit loudly, but you get used to it after a while. The windows stay open most of the time to let the breeze in, though it also lets in the sound of the traffic from the sector roads. We have a small courtyard where we do the morning assembly. It is a bit tight when everyone is there at once. The office is near the entrance, and there is usually a line of parents waiting to pay fees or ask about exams. We have a small library with books that have been rebound many times because they are so old. It is a busy, noisy place most of the time. We just focus on getting through the books and making sure the kids learn.
