AKANDRA CONSULTANTS LLP is situated on the fourth floor of the Neelam Centre, specifically in the A-Wing. This is over on SK Ahire Marg in Mumbai. Neelam Centre is a pretty well-known spot, so it’s not too hard to find, but the building is huge and sometimes people get turned around looking for the right wing. Our unit is 401 E. It’s a decent-sized space, though we’ve filled it up with enough desks and cabinets that it feels a bit snug now. The fourth floor gets a bit of a breeze if you stand by the window, which is nice in the summer months. We have a routine here where the first person in starts the computer and the last person out makes sure the lights are actually off. It’s a professional enough environment but very low-key. No one wears suits unless they absolutely have to for a meeting elsewhere. We spend most of our time staring at spreadsheets or talking over the partitions. The elevators in Neelam Centre are usually busy with people moving goods or going for lunch, so we’ve learned to be patient. There’s no fancy lounge or coffee machine, just a regular jar of instant coffee and a kettle in the corner. It’s a solid place to get work done without distractions. We’ve been here long enough that the security guards know us by name, which makes things easier.
