Ag Steel

You can find Ag Steel over in Santacruz East. We are based in the Surjeet Singh Building, which is on Shivaji Maharaj Road. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise from the street. We’ve been operating out of this building for a while. The space is filled with steel supplies, and we don’t have much room for anything else. We usually spend the morning checking our lists and seeing what needs to go out. The traffic on Shivaji Maharaj Road can be a real headache, especially when we are waiting for a shipment to arrive. Sometimes the drivers get stuck for an hour just a few blocks away. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the business well. We deal with all sorts of people, from contractors to local residents. The office part of the shop is pretty basic, just a couple of desks and some old filing cabinets. We don't worry too much about how the place looks, as long as we can find what the customers are asking for. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving pieces of steel. We like the neighborhood, even with all the chaos of Santacruz. It’s got a good energy. We just open up every morning and see what the day brings, handling one order at a time.
