You can find Adinath Metal Industries P. Ltd. over at 19, New Islam Mills Compound on Curry Road. The compound itself is one of those old Mumbai spots that feels like it’s been there forever. It’s a bit of a maze once you get inside, but number 19 is our corner of it. It’s an old-school setup. We deal with metals, so the place has that distinct metallic smell and there is usually a layer of fine dust on everything no matter how much we sweep. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high, which helps a bit when the sun is beating down on Curry Road. We aren't much for modern office decor. We have our ledgers, our scales, and our tools. Most of our day is spent handling materials and talking to vendors who have been coming to this compound for decades. It’s a lot of physical work and the phone rings more than we’d sometimes like. We don’t have a website that looks like a movie trailer; we just have this space and the work we do in it. Sometimes the neighbors are loud, or the rain makes a racket on the roof, but that’s just life in the mills. We like the history of the place and the fact that people know where to find us when they need metal worked or moved. It is a gritty, real environment where things actually get made and sold.
