Down at Nirman Industrial Estate, specifically at units 205 and 207, you’ll find Addon Export House Ltd. We are right on Chincholi Link Road in Malad West, which means we hear the sirens from the fire brigade nearby pretty often. It’s a loud area, but you get used to the noise of trucks and people shouting across the loading docks. Our space is mostly filled with stacks of fabric and large tables for packing. There is always a smell of new textiles in the air. We’ve been operating out of Malad for quite some time, dealing with the logistics of moving goods out of the city. It’s a lot of paperwork and checking labels twice. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, and the elevators are usually busy with heavy pallets. Most mornings start with a quick chat about what needs to go out by evening. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, just calendars and some old posters. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. Managing an export house means you’re always on the phone or checking the clock. We just focus on the shipments and making sure the boxes are taped up right. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here in this corner of the industrial estate. There isn't much more to it than showing up and getting the containers filled and gone.
