We operate out of room F-29 at Kedia Apartment, which is near Dindosi Pada in Malabar Hill. It’s a bit of a residential area, so it’s quieter than the main roads. Managing a rental car business means we spend a lot of time on our phones and looking at calendars. We have a fleet of cars that we have to keep clean and serviced. There’s always someone coming or going at different hours. A lot of our work is just logistics—making sure a driver is ready when a customer needs to go to the airport or a meeting. We keep our keys in a big wooden cabinet in the main room. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything. It’s just an office where we handle the bookings and the paperwork. Sometimes a car comes back with a flat tire or needs a deep wash, so we’re always dealing with those little chores throughout the day. My cousin helps me with the books and the scheduling. We try to be reliable because that's what people want when they hire a car. They don't want to be waiting on a street corner. We know the shortcuts around the city, which helps a lot during the rush hour traffic. It can be stressful when traffic is bad and we have three different pickups at once, but we manage somehow. We’ve been doing this for years, and we just keep the cars moving and the drivers on track. It’s a 24-hour job, really.
