You’ll find us on the first floor of the Samarpan Complex on New Link Road. We’re in the Chakala area of Andheri East, which is a very busy part of Mumbai. There is always noise and movement outside our windows. Our main work is clearing and shipping, which basically means we deal with all the customs stuff and the logistics of moving goods across borders or through ports. It involves a lot of reading through regulations and making sure every box is checked on the forms. We’ve been at this location for a good while. The office isn't anything fancy; it’s just a place with computers and printers and a lot of files. Dealing with shipping can be stressful because there are always deadlines to meet and ships that won't wait. We spend our days coordinating between clients and the authorities. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. We don’t use a lot of big words or try to impress people with fancy talk. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the clearing done as fast as the system allows. Working in Andheri East means we are right in the thick of the business world, which helps us stay connected to the ports. We just show up every morning, drink some tea, and start working through the pile of documents on our desks. It’s steady work and we like being here in the heart of Chakala. It keeps us on our toes.
