A. C. Steel

You can find us at A. C. Steel, which is located inside the Laheri Building at number 282. We are on the ground floor, right at the corner where the 5th Khetwadi Lane meets S.V.P. Road. It is an old building and the walls have a lot of character, to put it mildly. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be very clever about how we stack the steel. We deal with various types of metal, mostly for local contractors and small workshops nearby. Being on the corner means we get a lot of foot traffic and people peeking in to see what we have. It is often quite noisy with the traffic from S.V.P. Road just outside the door. We have a small counter where we handle all the paperwork and take the cash. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that wobble a bit when they are on high. We spend our mornings sorting through the new arrivals and our afternoons helping people load their trucks. It is a bit of a squeeze getting larger pieces out the door and around the corner. We have been in this neighborhood for years and know most of the shopkeepers on the lane. We don't do any big advertising or have a website. People just know we are here on the corner when they need some steel for a project. It is just a regular shop doing regular work.
