Down on Bazar Road in Bandra West, you’ll find us at Kapasi Cottage. This is where Greenward Indoor Farms Llp operates from. Bandra is a crowded place, so doing indoor farming here makes a lot of sense. We don't have big open fields, just the space we have in this part of Mumbai. It’s an old neighborhood with a lot of character. We spend our time figuring out how to grow things in small spaces. It’s not always easy. Sometimes the electricity acts up or we run out of space for the equipment. We started this because we liked the idea of plants growing right in the middle of the city. We aren’t a big corporation. It's mostly just a few of us working together in the cottage. The street outside is always noisy with shoppers and bikes, but inside it’s different. We focus on the plants and the technology we use. There's a lot of trial and error involved. Some things grow well and others don't, and we just learn as we go. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow food. It’s practical work. If you walk past Kapasi Cottage, you might not even realize what’s happening inside. We keep it low key and just focus on the daily chores. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but we make it work because we enjoy the process. It's a busy life here in Mumbai but we like it.
