Cottonguru Maha Farmers Producer Companylimited

Our group, Cottonguru Maha Farmers Producer Companylimited, is set up over in Mulund. We are in B Wing, Room 210, right across from Veena Nagar on LBS Marg. It’s a busy part of town, which is a bit different from the fields where the actual work happens, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time talking about cotton because that’s the main thing for most people in our network. The office gets a bit crowded when everyone comes in for a meeting. We have stacks of papers and samples laying around usually. It’s not a polished corporate place at all. You might find some tea cups on the table and people talking loudly over each other about market prices. We decided to put the office here so we could be closer to where the business side of things happens. It’s a long way from the dirt of the farm, but someone has to do the paperwork and make the calls. We’ve been at it for a bit now and it’s finally starting to feel like a real routine. Most of the guys here have been involved with farming their whole lives. We know the difference between a good crop and a bad one just by looking at the fibers. It's tough work but we enjoy being our own bosses for a change. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. It keeps us moving and awake during those long afternoons.
