K.H. Handicrafts

K.H. Handicrafts is set up over in Sirkoi Bhoor. We’re quite near the Kashiram Colony, so it’s easy for the locals to find our location. We spend our days working on different handicraft items. It’s the kind of work that takes a lot of time and patience with your hands. Our workspace isn't very large, but it is filled with tools and various materials. There is always bits of wood or fabric or whatever we are using scattered around on the tables. It is a bit of a mess, to be honest, but it is a productive mess for us. We don't have a fancy showroom to display things. Most of our work is done right there on the floor or at small wooden benches. The neighborhood of Sirkoi Bhoor is pretty quiet compared to the main city areas, which is nice for focusing on the details of the crafts. We started this because we knew how to make things. It's not a big operation with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us putting things together every day. Some days the light in the workshop isn't great, so we move closer to the door to see better. We see people from Kashiram Colony walking by every day. They sometimes peak in to see what we are making. We don't have a big website or a marketing person. We just make the crafts and people buy them. It’s a simple way to work. We’ve been at this for a while and don't plan on changing much.
