A. V. Handicrafts is found at 22/155 in Mandi Chowk, specifically on Ganesh Street. This part of town is always crowded and full of life, with people and rickshaws everywhere. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We deal with different kinds of handmade items that we get from various makers. It’s a small place, packed with things we’ve collected or made over time. You can smell the wood, the fabric, and the other materials as soon as you walk through the door. We don't have a big fancy display or a lot of space. Things are just arranged where they fit on the shelves. We’ve been on Ganesh Street for years, and we’ve seen the market change quite a bit around us. But we just keep doing what we do. A lot of our time is spent talking to the people who make these goods or cleaning up the pieces we have on display to keep them looking okay. It’s a lot of manual handling and packing things up. Mandi Chowk is a busy place with lots of vendors and shoppers, so there’s never a quiet moment during the day. We don't use a lot of high-tech stuff here. It’s mostly just us and the items we sell. People come in to browse and often stay to talk for a while about the weather or the news. We like the personal side of the business. It’s just about having a shop.
