B. N. S. Handicrafts

B. N. S. Handicrafts is based in the Baradari area, specifically in Churi Wali Gali. We are near the Kamal Cinema, which is a place most people around here can point you toward. Churi Wali Gali is a very old and famous lane, known for bangles and traditional things, so we fit right in with our handicrafts. The street is quite narrow, so you can’t really bring a big car right up to the door, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Our workspace is full of the things we make and sell, and it smells like wood and craft materials most of the time. We don’t have a big fancy showroom. It’s more of a workshop where we actually do the work. The building is quite old, with thick walls and small windows, which keeps it a bit cooler in the summer. We spend a lot of time working with our hands and making sure each piece is okay. It’s a slow kind of work, not like the fast-paced offices in the city. We’ve been in this lane for a long time and we know all the other shopkeepers. Sometimes we sit out front and talk when things are quiet. It’s a traditional way of doing business and we don't feel the need to change it. There is something nice about the history of Baradari that keeps us here.
