A. W. Handicrafts

We are A. W. Handicrafts and our workshop is located near the Kohinoor Tiraha in the Karula area of Moradabad. This part of town is always buzzing with the sound of hammers and polishing machines. We are right in the middle of it in Lal Nagri. My family has been working with metal and making things by hand for a long time. It’s what we know. Our space is filled with the smell of metal and wood. There are usually pieces of half-finished work sitting on every available surface. We don't have a showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. If you want to see what we make, you just have to come into the workshop and look at what’s currently on the benches. We make things like candle holders, trays, and small decorative items. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty every single day. We sell to some local traders and sometimes to people who come from other cities looking for authentic Moradabad work. There are about four of us working here most days. We take our time with the pieces because that’s how you get them right. It’s not a factory; it’s just a place where things are made slowly. The street outside is narrow and crowded, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. It’s a simple life focused on making good things.
