V B International Senior Secondary School sits right on the main Ambala Road in Zirakpur. It is a spot that many people pass every day if they are heading towards Chandigarh or coming back down. Being on a major road like that means we hear the trucks and cars all day long, but the students are used to it by now. The school has a decent building with enough rooms for all the different grades we have. It’s a senior secondary setup, so we have the older kids preparing for their big exams and the younger ones just starting out. We have a small staff room where we sit and have tea when there’s a break in the schedule. The playground isn't massive but there’s enough space for the kids to run around for a bit. Zirakpur has grown so much lately, and we’ve seen the whole area change around us. We just keep doing what we do, year after year. The classrooms have the basic stuff like chalkboards and benches. Some of the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a working school, not a museum. Parents from around the 140603 area bring their kids here because it’s convenient and they know we are just regular people trying to teach. It’s a busy place with a lot of energy, especially in the mornings when the buses arrive and everyone is rushing to get to their first class before the bell rings.
