Mount Carmel School

Mount Carmel School is located in Mohali, which is right next to Chandigarh. The area is very planned out, so the streets are wide and easy to navigate. Our school building has a classic look with its red brick walls and large iron gates. It has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time, and you can see the wear and tear on the stairs where thousands of feet have walked over the years. Inside, the corridors are long and can be quite cool in the mornings. We have a small yard in the back where we keep a few trees and some benches for sitting during the break. Mohali gets very hot in the summer, so we are always worried about the water tanks being full and the coolers running properly. Our staff room is a bit of a mess with stacks of notebooks and old newspapers piled on the tables. It is a very normal school environment, where we spend our time talking about the students or the local news. We do not have anything too fancy, just the standard classrooms and a small library that stays pretty quiet. Most of us commute from nearby sectors, so we are all used to the same traffic patterns and the local weather. It is just a steady, everyday place for us to come and work. Sometimes the bell rings late, but we just keep going.
