R. K. Plastic Industries

We are located in the Dheerkhera Industrial Area, right near the Savia Texconin building. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where all the manufacturing happens. R. K. Plastic Industries is basically a big shed where we have our molding machines and piles of raw plastic beads. The sound of the machines is a steady rhythm that you stop noticing after the first hour of your shift. It’s not a clean place, there are always little bits of plastic on the floor and the smell of melting material hangs in the rafters. We have a small crew of guys who have been here for years. We don't have a Human Resources department or a corporate handbook. We just talk to each other and figure out what needs to be done for the day. Sometimes a machine jams and we have to spend half the day fixing it with grease on our hands. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually the highlight for everyone. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy logos. Our name is just painted on the front door in blue. It’s a practical business for practical people. We just focus on making the parts and getting them out of the door before the sun goes down.
