Janta Vidhyalaya Inter College Magorra. We are located in the Maghora area of Mathura. This is a rural part of the region, so many of our students come from farming families nearby. The school is an Inter College, meaning we have the older students finishing their standard schooling here. The building is a sturdy brick structure that has been standing for quite some time. In the winter months, it gets quite cold in the classrooms, so everyone wears thick sweaters. The grounds are large and open, often dusty when the wind picks up across the plains of Mathura. We follow a simple schedule. The students arrive on their cycles, parking them in long rows under the trees. There is a lot of talking before the first bell rings. Our classrooms are basic, with wooden benches and old-fashioned blackboards. The teachers are locals who understand the challenges the kids face at home. We don't have fancy tech or labs, but we have enough to get the lessons taught. During the harvest season, some students miss a few days to help their parents, and we have to help them catch up later. It is a community place more than anything else.
