Chouhan Traders

Our shop is over on Basantar Marg, right near the Golf Road in Mathura Cantt. It is a decent spot and easy enough for people to find. We are Chouhan Traders. We trade a little bit of everything, depending on what the people in the area are looking for at the time. The building is an older one, but it is sturdy and keeps the rain out. We have a lot of walk-in traffic because of the location. It gets especially busy during the festival seasons when everyone is out shopping. We have shelves lined with various goods and boxes. It is not the most organized place in the world, but we know exactly where everything is kept. My cousin helps out on the weekends when things get really hectic. We spend a lot of time just talking to the locals who stop by. Mathura is a place with a lot of history, and we feel like we are a small part of the local fabric here. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know us and come by when they need something for their home or work. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when the weather is nice and the street is quiet. We handle some wholesale stuff too. The trucks come early in the morning to drop off new supplies. It is a simple life and we just try to keep the shop running.
