Adarsh Higher Secondry School

Adarsh Higher Secondry School. We are in the village of Nari, which is out in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. Our school is near the post office, which is a main landmark for us. Being a higher secondary school in a village means we see the students grow up from being small children to young adults. The building is spread out and has that typical village school feel with open corridors and a big playground that is mostly just open ground. We get a lot of dust because of the surrounding fields, especially when the wind picks up. The classrooms are basic, with benches and desks that have been around for years. We don't have air conditioning or fancy labs, just the essentials for the UP board syllabus. Most of our students walk from their homes in Nari or come on cycles from the neighboring villages. It’s a quiet life here most of the time, except when the bell rings for recess. We spend our mornings doing assembly in the sun and our afternoons grading papers in the staff room. The electricity is a bit hit or miss, so we rely on the big windows for light. It’s just an honest school where we try to help the local kids pass their 10th and 12th standards so they can find work or go to college. We work with what we have and keep moving forward every single year.
