Karuna Higher Secondary School

Karuna Higher Secondary School is out in Prabhapuram, in the Mannengode part of Palakkad. Being a higher secondary school means we deal with older students who are starting to think about their futures. The campus is spread out a bit, with different blocks for the younger ones and the seniors. It is a busy spot during the day. You will see students hanging out in the hallways or sitting under the trees during their breaks. We have a lab for science and a room for computers, though the machines are a few years old now. Palakkad can be very dry and hot, so we try to keep the classrooms as cool as possible with plenty of fans running. We do not really do much advertising. People know us because their older siblings or parents went here years ago. The office is usually piled high with paperwork and old files that we need to sort through. We follow the state board and try to get the syllabus finished before the final rush of exams. It is a no-nonsense kind of place. We expect the students to show up on time and do their work. Sometimes we have school events or sports days which are a bit chaotic but fun for everyone involved. It is just a regular school trying to do right by the kids in our village. There is always something to fix or a student to talk to, so days go by fast.
